Here goes....my first ever blog post on our website!

So I'll start by introducing myself, I'm Emma, I know lots of you already know me and will be used to my ramblings on our social media pages... during the Covid period of our lives my daily posts kept our lovely shop going, it allowed me to share our stock with you, have conversations with you all about what you needed and deliver the personal touch that we were so used to bringing to you. Since then I've continued with my posts, mostly on the days that we're open, but also occasionally on Sunday's and Monday's when we're closed too. By starting this blog it will hopefully make some of the content that I share available to everyone, you'll be able to find it right here on the website. As yet I'm not sure how frequently I'll get chance to drop a blog update but I'll be sure to try and keep you all up to date!

It would only be right to kick start this blog talking about where we started and sharing some exciting things ahead... We opened our doors on 1st May 2008, almost 18 years ago! Every year we try and do something to celebrate the birthday of QQ! This year my idea has got a little bigger than anything we've done before. We're going to be hosting a couple of evening talks in our workshop space. Carole (sometimes affectionately referred to as Momma G) will be talking about some of her extensive catalogue of quilts, I have requested that her very first quilt should make an appearance – it’ll show everyone the full patchwork journey Mum’s had from attending a sampler quilt course with Sue Belton 35 years ago, entering spectacular quilts in shows annually for fun, to opening her own shop.

If you’d like to attend one of her talks then do get in touch to book your place. You can give us a call on 01772780998, I know there’s a few people who have already expressed a wish to let them know of any future dates as they’re unable to attend the dates we currently have advertised, so if you can’t make it this time but would like to be notified of any future dates just pop me a comment or give me a call.

Thursday 30^th April – Fully booked

Thursday 14^th May – Limited Availability

On a completely different note I definitely need a snappy title for my blog...any bright ideas???

For now that’s all I’ve got time for – it’s almost time for the school pickup so I’ll cobble together some ideas and check back in soon with more ramblings...for now I’ll sign off in my usual way…

Have a lovely day all,

Emma
